I found this fossil in Austin, Texas. Looks very tooth-like but unusual. Any ideas?

We found a couple other teeth as well. The cliffs at that area are very high and I haven't had luck determining where things are eroding from.

The first looks like a broken rostral tooth from a sawskate - a big one!

The second object appears to be a crow shark tooth in matrix, given the serrated edge. Probably S. pristodontus given the size. I can't make anything of the last, you need to prep it out more.

Cool finds :dinothumb:

You drop below the radar for a while only to return with some out of this world finds- these are awesome! Heart breaker for that Squalicorax pristodontus but amazing you found that in cen tex. It's a hard find in the area because of how pitiful the maastrichtian exposures usually are. And I concur with rostral tooth - that is a giant one. Hard to even find them, let alone one that massive - haven't come across my first despite looking hard

Have you removed this tooth from the rock yet?
