Identifying the attached images , confirmation on whether or not this is a fossil

Please could someone help in answering whether or not the attached images is a fossil of some kind. 

This was found on a beach near the Lake District while I was away for a few days and it had caught my eye , looked somewhat intriguing. If someone could help in proving me an answer that would be great.

It’s an oyster. No idea if it is a fossil.
