Shirley Fireball
While I was looking for sea biscuits in Yankeetown, I found this. At first I thought it was an actual peanut. Lol I tried doing some research on it but can't really find that much information about what it actually is. So I'm hoping y'all will have some more suggestions or details. The closest I've found online is it being a double concretion. It's relatively small compared to similar ones I've found online. It's a little over 3cm long and less than 2cm wide. Not magnetic. Thank you for any and all help! Edited August 14, 2022 by Shirley Fireball
Mark Kmiecik
It's a peanut shaped rock. There's billions of them worldwide. 1 Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
Sacha
I think Mark has it right. I love going to Yankeetown. Show us what you brought home.
Shirley Fireball
I didn't find much this trip, or almost any trip since they've gave the place a makeover. I used to find dozens at a time but ever since they re-paved, laid down black tarps, and piled large limestone chunks onto them it's been so hard. This time I only got one that's a little beat up and one with calcium on it so I have to clean it up first to see how it looks. And of course my peanut rock. Lol These are a few from before they redid the place.
