Sergiorex
Saw this listing and was wondering if it’s more likely to be trex or Nanotyrannus. Length 1 3/4, width 37/100 and height is 6/10. It’s pretty long and the base is kinda circular on 2 sides. but it’s also not very robust, its slender and seems like there is a tiny pinch. I also think it may be a premax tooth? I’m leaning towards t.rex but interested in hearing other opinions

jikohr
Ha! I literally just posted this one! It's not a premax, but an anterior. Basically a tooth right after the premax. Edited August 16, 2022 by jikohr
Troodon
Nanotyrannus teeth are pretty similarwith rectangular bases so this is typical the heterodont teeth of T. Rex
Coco
Hi, On 8/16/2022 at 12:57 AM, Sergiorex said: Saw this listing and was wondering if it’s more likely to be trex or Nanotyrannus. I’ll tell you nicely what I told you two days ago (I hope you read our answers) : "FYI, trex means nothing. Each living or fossil being (people, animal, plants) is named with two parts in Latin, the first represents the name of the genus, and the second the name of the species. Speaking of trex, I assume you mean T. rex (look how I write it). T. = abbreviation of Tyrannosaurus is the genus name, and rex is the species name. Latin names must always be written in italics, with a capital letter (only) for the gender name". I will just add the correct name : Tyrannosaurus rex.
