Jbenton
Hi all, Found on a Florida beach in Venice, this appears to be a vertebrae of a small animal. Can’t quite tell what animal it might be. Anybody have any ideas? It’s about half an inch long and a quarter inch wide. Thanks
Shellseeker
Do a google search on "filefish vertebra fossil". Check out the images. Your 2nd and 3rd photos scream "fish vert" 1 1 The White Queen ".... in her youth she could believe "six impossible things before breakfast"
digit
Yup. Very worn but the amphicoelous ends (both sides concave) indicate fish vertebra. Cheers. -Ken
