Jbenton
Hi Found in eastern Iowa, near coralville. I assume it’s coral but what kind and what era are these from? Dimensions: 6” long by 5” wide. Any ideas?
Manticocerasman
It looks like a devonian coral like Favosites sp. to me. But I'm not familliar with the geology of Iowa. Someone will have to confirm that you got devonian deposits over there. 1 2 growing old is mandatory but growing up is optional.
TqB
I agree it's probably Favosites which is usually Devonian or Silurian. Coralville was named for its Devonian corals. 2 Tarquin
Rockwood
This is big, but you need to go four to five times that to get huge.
