fossilnewbie74
What is this? And why is it worth a lot? It measures 2.75 inches across (6.985 cm), and weighs 112 grams, or 3.97 ounces. It was found in the mountains in northern Arkansas. It has been suggested that it might be a Meekella, but it is far larger than the examples I have seen online. Can anyone identify this fossil? fossilus
Doesn't really look like a brachiopod to me. Maybe some kind of burrow? Or feeding trace? 1
Fossildude19
I agree - this looks very similar to the trace fossil, Asterosoma. 4 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks."
