Troodon
Again all the bones are from the Hadrosaur Edmontosaurus annectens First up is a juvenile fibula about 22inches long Exposed the top Starting to undercut the bone Its Pedestal to a point to get foil under the bone and let the plaster support it. Plaster wrapped the bone Used two knives to flip the bone. Came out perfect Next up is a very large anterior caudal vertebra. It has two small knubs 1 inch long as the lateral processes. Discovery - hard to make out what it is, took a while to figure it out Vertebra is complete with a beautiful neural spine. Centrum is okay on this side Since the spine had a clean break, I removed it and put it in foil. Makes extraction of the Centrum a lot easier and avoids damage to spine lots of matrix on centrum Used foil then plaster Came out great 100% complete Next is a nice juvenile sternal plate. Same extraction process, expose, pedestal, foil wrap then plaster wrap Exposed and undercut Foil wrap Plaster wrap Hard to see put it came out great Not everything found works out. I exposed this beautiful neural spine just to find out there was no centrum

Brought home 2 1/2 , 5 gallon buckets of matrix to explore. Sometimes I'll take home ant hill material but not this trip. 42 minutes ago, RJB said: Really nice trip report. Loved all the pictures. Looks like you've got your work cut out for you. Enjoy it because you never know what you will find, cool discoveries can just be around the corner. A couple of years ago a simple centrum was full of bite marks. Diseased bone, predation or bite marks and areas of bone regrowth can be found. It was a difficult time for these critters with all these Tyrannosaurs around.
