Mahnmut
Hello dear fellow forum members, this is a fossil that I got as a gift when I was eight years old, as a fossil sponge. In the years after, I began to doubt if sponges fossilize and called it a coral, but maybe it really is a sponge after all? I think it is from the region around Porto Christo on the east coast, but cannot be sure about that. The east coast is mainly Miocene on the surface as far as maps tell me. There are jurassic and cretaceous fossils on the island also. Any ideas? Thanks, J Try to learn something about everything and everything about something Thomas Henry Huxley
