Antoaneta
Hello, I found this fossil on Strandhill Beach, on the west coast of Ireland. I am wondering what it might be. Thanks!
Fossildude19
Could be a cross section through a Rugose coral. 1 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Carl
Agreed that it is a rugose horn coral. Just for context: Horn corals were solitary corals that lived on Earth from the Ordovician to the Permian (as old as ~500 million years and as young as 250 million years old). By comparison the oldest known dinosaurs are about 245 million years old. Nice find!
