Hello, I am making a great of in-situ pictures of my fossil hunting trips for this year. We now have a foot of snow in the ground so fossil hunting season is over. ☹️

These pictures occur in Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota and North Dakota. Mostly Cretaceous aged sites but some Eocene from ND. They are mostly tooth related.

I hope everyone likes in-situ pics as much as I do!

You have way more self control than I do.  I wish I had taken the time to take more in-situ pictures.  Nice job!

My favorite things about fossil hunting: getting out of my own head, getting into nature and, if I’m lucky, finding some cool souvenirs.

I love photos of stuff in situ, especially these familiar Late Cretaceous dinosaur fossils! Something about even just seeing photos scratches an itch that can't normally be reached while cooped up over the winter...

Leaves from ND. I really liked the one slab with the different leaves on it but it was too far of a walk to the truck to carry it out. The other rock was huge so it is still there also.

Some awesome finds! You just inspired me to make a similar thread with some highlights of 2022. Then again I've got plenty I still want to post that I'm still getting around to, so who knows when I'll get to that.

Ha ha! I have a lot more but they are more dino tooth related so I don't want to over saturate people with those. Plus, it is making me want to go looking but with all of the snow on the ground...
