Does anyone know what this is? I found it on a beach along the west coast of Florida. It is about 1 1/2" L x 1" W x 1/2" H ?

A skate loop. It is a large dermal denticle often located at the spine of the skate. Beautiful fossil !

EDIT : I have a hunch that the word "loop" is not the right English term ! :zzzzscratchchin:

My favorite things about fossil hunting: getting out of my own head, getting into nature and, if I’m lucky, finding some cool souvenirs.

Thank you so much! Now I can know what this is, especially since it has always been the most favorite one out of my collection.
