ChantelNicole
Found this interesting textured fossil at the beach in St Augustine Florida. I find lots of bone fragments and skull caps and such here but never found anything this texture
Rockwood
I've never seen bone that looked like that before, but I kind of hope this is a first. It's an unusual looking piece.

Shellseeker
Curious. It is extremely difficult to find a fossil in florida that none of our members recognize. I have hunted Florida for 15 years. It is tooth or tusk, not bone. I am traveling, not home until after Christmas. I have a slight feeling for Mammoth tooth or tooth root. well worn. i may have some similar fragments 1 The White Queen ".... in her youth she could believe "six impossible things before breakfast"

Boesse
It's whale bone. The white parts are the bony trabeculae, and the black is phosphatized matrix.
