So this came out if the same batch I posted last week.  Between Arlington and Fort worth.

Don't know if it's better to show video or pics.  So I am doing. Both.  I'm just curious what it is.  Thx in advance for any help

All of your photos are ammonites -- casts and impressions. Not well preserved but collectable. If you keep looking in the area where you found these you will definitely find ones of better preservation. There are lots of ammonites in Texas and some are HUGE -- I'm talking backhoe to pick it up big.

Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!

Compare to images of Mariella brazoensis.

Ok awesome I looked it up and this is exactly what it looked like. Thx so much.  I have large ammonites that are different than this kind and boy are they super heavy. I can barely lift them.  And they are in pieces.  I imagine it would be next to impossible to lift them if I were to piece them together. Unless I had some machinery like u mentioned.

Thx so much.

I plan to post pics of my large ammonite collection, but was unsure how to proceed.  Do I have to know all the specifics in details? Or how can I just post them to show them off.  ?

Thanks in advance

You could post them in Fossil ID if you are not sure what kind they are.  If you have identified them, you could post them in Member Collections.

Ok....so I do have to have all criteria met....can't just say "ammonite"

.....Ok then I guess ill have to get them ID'd to more specific

I will eventually get around to that. I have to move them to where light is better....they are really heavy.

Thx again

I'm sorry for the confusion. To start a topic in the quoted link, you can just call it an ammonite.
