Danielb
I found a fossil a while ago in New York ina Devonian layer. I’m not sure what it is. Can someone help me?
ScottBlooded
I feel like you’re missing an angle here, could do with a photo from the other end of the lighter color cylinder. That being said, and with the caveat that I’m an amateur, if this is Devonian my first guess would be some kind of partial orthocone nautiloid. Definitely wait for pros to weigh in though (also actual size would help, lots of people on here don’t know the size of an American quarter). 1
