I found this near Logan utah, I have another “bone” fossil I found there that I would like to post also. A hater told me it was natural who looked at it in person. I just want to know. I am a proud rock hound. This seems odd to me. I found several horn coral fossils and sea life proof near by. This would have been near a lake bonneville shore at some point. The surrounding seems very sedimentary while the inside seems agatized. Following what looks to be an actual foot and not a print seems you can see the actual outline of how a toe was curled into the mud. There looks to be a total of 3 toes but doesn’t look to be all forward facing by Dino prints I’ve seen so maybe big bird or just the way it laid to rest. I need help please!

Sorry looks natural to me also, I’m sure the professionals will say the same also.

Here is the one that looked like two bones next to eachother but separated. Again I could be totally wrong. But it appears very porous like bone could be. It’s a completely different texture than the rest of the rock and almost feels crystallized/ agatized.

Why must geology be so cruel… :shakehead:

There are so many awfully suggestive rocks out there.

But it's worth it to find the evidence of such ancient biology it it. Be ware that the feeling can be addictive though. :)

First looks like a chert nodule. Second one is a rock, as well. No fossils evident.

Is this person a “hater” because they didn’t agree with your foot assessment, or does the person genuinely not like you and you think they were lying? :headscratch:

It’s usually much easier to ID something when it is looked at in person.

Anyway… I guess you will have to count me among the haters (although I don’t dislike you :)). Looks geological to me.

Well I guess I was hoping for better news but I’m not disappointed. Just wanted some clarity. One’s been on my nightstand for years so I guess it won’t hurt to sit there a couple more years. Thank you for all of your input. I think it’s still a cool

conversation piece.
