Fossil Found in Frio River

Hello everyone. I was at the Frio River and found a symmetrical bone-like fossil after weeks of heavy rainfall. It was found in the plunge pool. The shape of this is very interesting and it is very porous, though I can’t tell if it’s bone or some type of sea specimen.  Any help with identification is very much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.  What you have found is a procardia clam steinkern, Cretaceous age, and a Texas classic.  Good specimen.

Welcome to the forum!

Here's a nice gallery of Texas Cretaceous fossils from one of our other forum members @JamieLynn:

Where there is one fossil there may be more. Sounds like you need to make a trip back and see what else you can find. ;)

Cheers.
