mcbarry
Hello everyone. I was at the Frio River and found a symmetrical bone-like fossil after weeks of heavy rainfall. It was found in the plunge pool. The shape of this is very interesting and it is very porous, though I can’t tell if it’s bone or some type of sea specimen. Any help with identification is very much appreciated. grandpa
Welcome to the forum. What you have found is a procardia clam steinkern, Cretaceous age, and a Texas classic. Good specimen. 3 1

digit
Welcome to the forum! Here's a nice gallery of Texas Cretaceous fossils from one of our other forum members @JamieLynn: http://www.thefossilforum.com/index.php?/gallery/album/3086-texas-cretaceous-fossils-bivalves-clams/ Where there is one fossil there may be more. Sounds like you need to make a trip back and see what else you can find. Cheers. -Ken
