LanceH Posted June 7, 2008 Share Posted June 7, 2008 It's a transported fossil since Mineral Wells is exclusively Pennsylvanian strata. It looks like an Oxtropidoceras ammonite. It could be from the Glen Rose, Walnut, or Goodland fomations. You can get some good quality Oxys from the creeks and drainages in west Tarrant county; Mary's Creek, Walnut Creek.
