astron
Hi all. After a google search, I think that this is the species of the shown fossill. I've found it on Sunday 27 Feb.11 and the prep completed today. Phoenix Theophrastii is a date palm endemic to Crete Island and exists nowadays mainly in Vai and Preveli. Fossils of it have been found in 3 other places of the island but this one is the first found in my area. In my google searcing I didn't see a lot of these fossills and none in both counterparts as this one is. Many thanks for any interest. Best regards Astrinos Edited March 1, 2011 by astron Astrinos P.
