afguynwh
I found this fossil when i was younger in the Harpeth River in middle TN. I just wanted to see if anybody had any idea of what species it could be and possibly how old it is. My photos aren't too good but the fossil is relatively small about the size of a nickel. It also has striations down the back of the shell which my photos may not show too well. Any help id'ing this would be appreciated. erose
Looks like Cyclonema from the Ordovician. BUT there are many similar forms in other parts of the Paleozoic.
afguynwh
Looking at photos of cyclonema it does appear that may be what it is. Mine may just be a little more worn down from being underwater for so long.
