Shellseeker
Auspex, Almost like a Chat with instant response. You are indicating that Golden Eagles are larger birds with proportionally larger fossil bones than Bald Eagle. The ebay bone looks to be 35-40 mm, and I have one at 30 mm. If dealing with a mature bird, this would imply a Bald rather than golden. It likely would also have something to do with the territory of the 2 raptors 10000 - 100000 ears ago The White Queen ".... in her youth she could believe "six impossible things before breakfast"
Auspex
There are so many phalanges in a bird's foot, each one different sized, that length alone won't get you very far. The LaBrea bone on Ebay is much more robust than I would expect for Bald Eagle. Too, the distribution of the two species makes Golden more likely at LaBrea, and Bald more likely in FL.
