Goniatite/ammonite ?

Hi all can anyone tell me if this is a Goniatite ? , Carboniferous limestone mid Visean 330-337Ma

and second thumbnail is root in seatearth clay matrix hard to tell which plant tho , from carboniferous lower coal measures 312-313Ma

Hi,

I don't think there's enough showing to be sure - can't see any sutures so it may be a gastropod (Straporollus/Euomphalus type)

yes i thought it would be hard too id with half being hidden , ill check out Straporollus/Euomphalus type) thanks for help :) and taking a look

found various articles quoting Euomphalus and Straporollus as gastropods found in limestone facies this fossil came from thanks !!

very nice piece.

Not sure if its a gastropod like strapollus. I would say maybe clean it up and highlight what you are wanting to show, It looks like a real nice fossil conglomeration.

not a true ammonite though. But if its carboniferious coal measure, then it would be most likely a gastro or small pre-ammonite (I forgot the technical term at the momment just got back from a long drive)

Thanks ill try to clean it up and re-post , the root in other thumbnail is coal measures the limestone is

is mid visean , sorry for confusion (ill have to learn the U.S equivalents of carboniferous periods, eras etc ) thanks for your help :)
