Gray Ghost 27
I spent the other week at the beach and didn't do too bad. I ended up with some nice sharks teeth, some cast, some sea robin skull plates, some stingray barbs, and some bony fish teeth.

CH4ShotCaller
Very nice finds! I did some collecting in the early 80's (1980's, not 1880's ) near the mouth of a small inlet on an old place called the Ponderosa Campgrounds. A large out cropping of hard white conglomerate that contained bivalves, bones, and shark teeth, plus the fishing was good too! Enjoyed your pics, thanks for sharing! Gray Ghost 27
North Myrtle Beach and Myrtle Beach are good areas to hunt sharks teeth and fossils from where the beaches have been re-nourrished over the last 10 or so years.
CH4ShotCaller
I need to take me a wee vacation (off season, of course) back that way. I found a huge rib sticking out of the sand on my last day that we lived there. I couldn't get it out, tide was coming in, nearly 3' was sticking straight up. I still think about the vast amounts of fossils available in SC, wonderful place! Gray Ghost 27
This is what got me started hunting for sharks teeth and fossils 2 summers ago. I was metal detecting at 2nd Ave. pier south Myrtle Beach and walked right over this meg tooth. I couldn't believe no one had picked it up. It looked like some one had placed it on the sand about 20 yards from the water line. Later that summer a fellow had found one at North Myrtle Beach that was complete about the same size, so I knew there were more. I have found broken pieces of meg teeth but not another complete one. I hope the surf will cut back into the beach this winter and uncover some of the dredge material. I find my biggest teeth a night, especially at the full moon when the tide is about half way out. I use 2 led lights that last about 2 hr. each.

Gray Ghost 27
Coco, are you asking about the 2 items on the photo with the single meg tooth photo? I believe they are vertebra of some kind but don't know what type yet. I haven't posted in the ID section yet. I will be going to our fossil fair in Raleigh, NC in Jan. where the NC Fossil Club displays their fossils at the NC Museum of Science. They also have 2 palentologist from the Smithsonian that will identify any item you bring.
