andreas
Hello Yesterday I started my Triassic ammonoid hunting season 2012. The weather was pretty cool and windy but no rain. Snow was just gone at this location. I found a few Norian ammonoids at the beginning of my trip and some small blocks with Carnian ammonoids on my way/search back to my car. They show a small, but fine preserved, ammonoid fauna of the Tuvalian stage(uppermost Carnian/upper Triassic) regards Andreas

andreas
Thanks everyone! It was a very good feeling hunting again after this long winter The pristine colours one see, immediatly after splitting a block, will never come back so clear. I try to freeze this moment with a picture but a picture looks never as pristine as the reality. Unfortunately...
Missourian
I'm not the first to say it, but.... Beautiful colors on those ammonites. Context is critical.
Ludwigia
Hi Andreas, You are radiating good feelings with which I can strongly identify. It must be such a delight to find this colorful fauna in this pristine moss-covered environment. All the more reason for me to be looking forward to our planned excursion. andreas
Yersterday evening I was not able to resist and split the above shown mossy small block. The result (quality and preservation) was better than expected So I did a little test preparation and quick ID afterwards. Thank you Missourian and Roger for yor comments. Roger, I hope that the weather will be fine when we do our planed trip. regards Andreas
