autographcollector11
Can anyone help ID these? They were found in the Peace River in Florida. They have cross hair or "etched" sides-making me think that it is mammoth or mastadon. Thanks in advance!!
PrehistoricFlorida
Please post better pictures. The bottom piece is almost completely in the shadow. www.PrehistoricFlorida.com
MammothPaleoGuy
I'd really like better pictures as well, showing all sides if possible. Without more views, I can't really rule out a fortuitously-shaped rock. If it is a tooth, at that size it's more likely to be a Neochoerus pinkneyi, a North American capybara. They have lophodont teeth just like mammoths. They were pretty cool creatures too -- something like the 4th largest rodent ever. Sharks of SC
I think they are probably pieces of Gomphethere or Mastodon enamel...they look very much like several pieces that I have
