Nutrition And Horn Size Of Rhino Beetles

Though it has nothing to do with fossils, this is a really interesting article on how nutrition plays a role in the size of modern rhino beetles horns, suggesting that perhaps:

their findings could explain the evolution of super-sized body parts in the natural world.

I wonder if this sort of physiological response had anything to do with trilobite ornamentation....
