Hammer Belt

I found this hammer belt (It may not have originally been intended for hammers, but works well.) at Fleet Farm (A big farm, garden, hunting, and building chain store up here).

It is comfortable and holds both my masonry hammer and my Estwing rock pick hammer. I generally keep it in my truck, along with a backpack, in case I get the urge to stop at a road cut.

Super handy! I like the ruggedness of the belt and it works with those army clips, so if I want to add other stuff (Canteen maybe?) I can.

It also matches my fossil hunting pack, cap, and fly fishing vest -- important to color coordinate you know. LOL :-D

If you go to my website, I have a page on hunting niceties if you are interested. I personally like camo because it doesn't show the dirt and dust so much.

Bev :)

Matches? My socks rarely match.

Don't know why but I never use a hammer belt. The hammer is in my pack or in my hand....or lost on the ground and I'm looking for it.

LOL I do think that if you try a hammer belt you will like it - very convenient. :)

they also make them with steel loop hangers, easier to get the hammer out fast before someone gets to the fossil first.

You've got to wear a belt for the steel hoop hangers. I often wear a long skirt. :-D

Long skirt....I like looking at early photos of Early geology work in the mountains. Charles Walcott is known for finding the Burgess Shale in Field, British Columbia. However his wife, Helena, was as much a collector as he was and quite the amateur paleontologist. There are photos of her on expedition in the fossil wilds in a long skirt down to her boots. There are a few famous early female explorers of our western wilderness and they are usually in 'proper' attire.

Well, my skirts usually reach the ankles. :)

But I have no problem hiking them up for a creek crossing! :-D

Wow thats a great idea Bev! :) I have never seem a use for those pouches until now. I will try that next time I am out. In case anyone wants to search ebay for them, look up "alice ammo pouch" and "web pistol belt." The belts DO come in sizes. Fyi, the hangers for your hammers were originally meant for grenades!
