Described specimens to me are so much more valuable than ones sitting in my collection or in a drawer in a museum basement. Marco Sr. Marco, Thanks for your efforts, your generosity, your attitude, and your determination to get these fossils studied. It often takes much more time and effort to properly collect such specimens than it does to actually describe them, once someone actually gets to work on that. I'm sure many months or years of effort went into assembling the collection. You are indeed an example to be emulated for our community. I made over 130 trips over many years to the site where I collected these bird bones. However, the effort was more of a passion and a total stress relief from my very stressful, demanding job work. I'm just now waiting for the paper to be "formally published" (it has been published on-line) because the new owl species name does not count as formally published until the volume with the paper has been printed which is still some weeks away. It is such a long process. Marco Sr. "Any day that you can fossil hunt is a great day." It is a great feeling when specimens that I found are finally described. The ironic thing is that I spend the majority of my time collecting shark, ray and fish micro specimens, and haven't found anyone to describe them yet except for my coprolite specimens.
