Found This At Deer Lake, Pa

I found this along with a bunch of brachiopods in Deer Lake, PA. They are doing a lot of road construction there, so we went on a weekend when they were not working. I found this at the very end of our visit lying in a pile of rubble at the base of the soon to be new road. I wish I found it chipping rock away, instead of just sitting on the ground, but never the less it was exciting.

It is about 3 inches long and 2 inches wide. The ridges have small almost tentacle like 'sucker holes' on them. Almost like miniature versions of the suckers on the bottom of an octopus arm.

Any ideas?

I agree. Looks like Dipleura to me. A very cool looking large burrowing trilobite. Big congratulations! I've collected a number of them in Central Upstate New York. I was just at Deer Lake last week for the first time, but didn't find any trilos, just brachs, bivalves, and something weird I should post here. I've heard that Dipleura are sometimes found at the site, but are pretty rare so consider yourself to be highly fortunate to find one just lying there. Sometimes we have to work our butts off and sometimes they're just given as gifts. Best of luck collecting.
