Seal Or Whale Tooth?

My wife found this tooth this morning. We were searching in a creek near Summerville, SC. I assume it is the Chandler Bridge formation. The tooth is approximately 1 inch long. Any ideas?

It does indeed resemble preservation of the Ashley/Chandler bridge - although there are a couple of putative phocid seal bones reported from those units, they have been disputed, and there are probably not any Oligocene pinnipeds in South Carolina. This is instead an odontocete tooth.
