mrieder79
My dad and I hit the Black Creek near Middleburg. I've read that fossils can be found there. Apparently they come from different parts of the creek because we didn't find anything. We went over plenty of limestone bottom in our canoe and saw several clay deposits revealed in the banks but there were no gravel beds and nothing that looked fossil bearing. If anyone knows anything about what to look for in that part of Florida, it would be very helpful. Luck is the most important skill of a fossil diver. SouthJB
I have hit Black Creek in the past and have found little to nothing worth the trip. "Tons" of people say they find good things there but we had a very hard time even finding gravel beds etc.
