Very cool Tim. Can't wait to see that prepped.

Thanks Jeff, I may give it a go soon. :)

Great trip report Tim! Congrats on the finds. I once found some of the black shale at an excavation that was covered with the clam shrimp. Never thought fish could be found in it too!

Thanks Dave!

Apparently there were fish - at least in some of the same layers. I have been finding darwinulid ostracods in association with both the Estheria and Diplurus, as well.

This Triassic exposure may have been somewhat more brackish water, rather than fresh water deposits.

There aren't many of these arthropods found in conjunction with the fish/plant freshwater deposits in my local early Jurassic aged formations

Thanks for having a look.

Thanks for that link, Nick.

Going through some shale I brought home with me, I came across another Diplurus newarki this evening - this one may be fairly complete?

How did I miss this!?!

Awesome stuff Tim! Did you find anything more about your possible gliding lizard wing rib yet?

Great report, love reading your trip reports.

No Jim, I haven't done anything about that piece, yet. I 'm not sure that any id can be made from just the little bit I have.

And there is always the possibility that it's just a fish bone.

Thanks for the nice comment.

Nice report, Tim... All your finds are great but I like those shrimp, they are nothing to sniff at. I would not have figured they were shrimp if I didn't have some source telling me they were - I would have been saying "look at these nice bivalves"!

Thanks, Eric! Yeah, I had to explain that to my wife, too. ;)

Amazing! I'm just down the coast a bit in DE. Maybe I can tag along next time!

Well, I won't be going back til late fall or early next spring. Gotta let that poison Ivy die off a bit.

But I'll keep you in mind when I start making plans. ;)
