fossilized6s
Let me first say im doing this all from my smartphone, so sorry for any bad pics. I bought a micro camera attachment for my phone for $20 a few weeks ago and im still ironing out the details of how to get a presentable picture from it, but here's my first attempts. I found this little guy last night while sifting some Lee Creek micro matrix. I was pumped when i found it in my first couple of scoops. I thought it to be a Whale Shark tooth, but now after seeing some pictures im not so sure. Any help is appreciated guys! Sélacien34
I would say that it's look to a partial tooth of rhincodon
Al Dente
A worn down Squatina tooth is another possibility.

fossilized6s
That does look fairly similar. Thanks guys! I've found a complete Squatina tooth from Lee Creek, so I'll make a comparison when i get a chance. ~Charlie~ "There are those that look at things the way they are, and ask why.....i dream of things that never were, and ask why not?" ~RFK ->Get your Mosasaur print ->How to spot a fake Trilobite ->How to identify a CONCRETION from a DINOSAUR EGG
John Hamilton
I concur with a worn squatina.
fossilized6s
Thanks John. It was actually found in your matrix. Im crossing my fingers to find a Whale shark, Basking or Megamouth. I know the Megamouth is a VERY long shot, but it's the hope that drives us, right?!
That's right! That matrix has produced quite a few Rhincodon teeth but only one Cetorhinus tooth for me. Hopefully you will find some too.
fossilized6s
I compared my mystery tooth to my only Squatina tooth, but i couldn't confirm an ID. they're both too worn. But i do still think it is one regardless.... Thanks for the feedback guys. ~Charlie~ "There are those that look at things the way they are, and ask why.....i dream of things that never were, and ask why not?" ~RFK ->Get your Mosasaur print ->How to spot a fake Trilobite ->How to identify a CONCRETION from a DINOSAUR EGG
