Frty12345
My friend recently purchased a 3-3.5 inch meg that I sorta like. I'm tempted to offer my 3 inch Angy for it... Should I? Here are the two teeth in question. Edited August 26, 2014 by Frty12345
Frty12345
Other side of each tooth. Would it be a good deal/trade for me, yes or no? Because I know 3 inches is big for an Angy. Edited August 26, 2014 by Frty12345

Carcharodontosaurus
I'd pass. That meg is average quality, and although I'm not certain, I think a quality angy is less common than a quality meg.
JohnBrian
I tend to agree with Carcharodontosaurus. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- John

THobern
Objectively, the meg is worth about $10-25 more. Edited August 26, 2014 by THobern

MarcoSr
I wouldn't trade. 3 inch Megs are a lot more common than 3 inch Angys. Marco Sr.. "Any day that you can fossil hunt is a great day." sixgill pete
Personally, I would not even consider it. Angustiden's are much less common and a 3 inch one is on the same "rarity" scale as a 6 -6.5 inch meg in my opinion. Frty12345
Alright, I won't trade it thanks guys! I had no idea 3 inch Angys were as rare as a big meg. I only got my Angy for 11$ too lol, he got his meg for 72$. Thanks for the help guys!!!
Troodon
That's a pretty nice purchase if you only spent $11 for it.
THobern
Yeah, I'd say the angustiden is worth $15, the meg around $40.
Frty12345
THobern that's sarcasm right ? He paid 72 for his (I personally NEVER spend over 30 on my teeth) and I got mine for 11$. Someone already offered me 150$ for mine so I know it's worth a bit.

If you're comfortable doing so, take the $150, which I'm afraid is 10 times its value.
Kosmoceras
Yeah, I'd say the angustiden is worth $15, the meg around $40. Maybe you could share where you are getting your teeth from; I can't remember seeing similar specimens going for those prices...

cowsharks
Did you find the Angy? If so, I wouldn't trade it for a tooth that you'll purchase because you don't have a story to go with the tooth - namely, your story of when, where, how you found it.... MarcoSr
A tooth is worth whatever someone will pay for it which in a lot of instances doesn't match market value or fair value. Frty12345
I bought my Angy on eBay for 11$ lol. So I guess he's right, patience is key. Also, I didn't trade it, I figured my Angy is a little more valuable .
