Any Ideas What This Might Be? This Is From The Cretaceous Eagle Ford Formation In Texas And Is Approx. 3.5" X 2.5"

Edited to say: The exposed fossil has a very sand papery feel. Very unlike what I am used to finding.

It seems to be a real fossil, but I can't find any diagnostic features to lead towards a definition of it.

It might be two fossils.

Unless somebody can see something here, I'd have to say that it is indeterminate until it is exposed more.

I'm thinking it is a chert nodule, maybe with a fossil as the core of the chert. That would make it REALLY hard to work.

And it would chip like glass.

That's why I was seeking opinions fromTFF. I was hoping someone recognized what it might be and if it was worth the trouble to try to expose more. Thanks for your input :)
