SoreBack
Hello Folks, I found these today in the NJ Cretaceous. Are they both reptilian? Thanks, Steve

Jeffrey P
I think they're mosasaur which are more common and tend to be larger than croc teeth. Truth is, they're very hard to tell apart. Whichever, they're excellent finds. Congratulations!!!!
squali
You have some excellent preservation coming out of that creek. The formation can't be far up stream. A lot can be learned from a pic of the base of the teeth to help with the moss/croc differentiation, but not always. It's hard to remember why you drained the swamp when your surrounded by alligators.
SoreBack
Hello Folks, Neither of these teeth has a good base. The thicker tooth has a slight carina on the distal edge and the thinner tooth has no carinae on either edge. I thought that the thinner tooth might be a broken tip of a plesiosaur tooth when I first found it. Steve
non-remanié
yeah steve, i think you might be right. the one does look like it might be a plesiosaur tooth. very nice! doing well with the reptile teeth for sure ---Wie Wasser schleift den Stein, wir steigen und fallen---
