PA Fossil Finder
I found this tiny fossil on the beach at Cape May, NJ. Looks sort of like a tiny piece of Lepidodendron bark, but it is only about one centimeter long. I have no idea of the geology at Cape May, so I can't tell how old this thing is. Auspex
I wonder whether it might be a fragment from a more modern artifact? Troodon
Auspex might be spot on. I can add that there are lots of wrecks off Jersey/Delaware shoreline. Artifacts routinely wash ashore for the picking. Just ask my wife she loves to collect them.

I agree with them..Lots of stuff wash up in the surf around the coast line in NJ. anything from thousands of years old fossils and some Indian artifacts. I'm wondering if this is Indian pottery of some kind or it just might be from a old wreck....Any how its very interest and I think you need to show someone that can ID this....maybe a museum. Al Dente
It might be an impression of a fenestrate bryozoan.
