Dallas Paleontological Society got permission for a group "casual collector" hunt at Lake Texoma from the US Army Corps of Engineers. This was my first Texoma hunt. Here's what I found:

An almost-complete Mortoniceras sp. ammonite. I'm getting closer to finding a complete ammonite! :D

A chunk of Mortoniceras sp. ammonite with a piece of the limestone "mold" that it came out of.

The same ammonite fragment, held edge-on to show off the tubercles.

The "heartbreaker" ammonite of the trip. I saw the rounded edge of this one sticking out of the bank, and thought "Here it is! My first complete ammonite!" Nope. A tree root had zig-zagged inside the bank & destroyed all but this piece.

You are well on your way to a complete ammonite. :)
