My father found this internal mould of a small snail (Helix ramondi) made of opal in the Oligocene of Dallet, France. The color is more vivid under sunlight!

I know this is an old thread but I have a cool fossil to add. I found it along the North San Gabriel river near Austin. I think it may be horn coral.
