Found this a while ago and I'm pretty sure it's just domestic dog; but would like some confirmation please.

Could be a clue. Seems more consistent with rock carrying than critter gnawing. Wouldn't that spell domestication ?

I have a recent coyote skull and it's 7 1/2 inches long. It seems to be more gracile from the top view than yours though.

Adult domestic dog skulls range in length from less than 4 inches to about 10 inches. A side view of the skull would help. The premolars are a bit crowded, with P2 and P3 overlapping, which suggests domestic dog. Notice the asymmetrical P1's.

The plural of "anecdote" is not "evidence".
