Haplo
Hi Started our first rock hunting adventure today and found a few that we couldn't positvely identify off the internet yet. Was hoping we could find out what these are. I will have to post later - when I have more time - for each picture. I am reducing each one's quality so they will fit. Thank you Edited November 29, 2015 by Haplo Sometimes when I consider what tremendous consequences come from little things... Auspex
I don't wonder that you're having a time with the ID; I can't make much sense of it either! The extra images you're working on may help. 1 "There has been an alarming increase in the number of things I know nothing about." - Ashleigh Ellwood Brilliant “Try to learn something about everything and everything about something.” - Thomas Henry Huxley >Paleontology is an evolving science. >May your wonders never cease! Auspex
Good image! With the hint of mud slurry (2nd pic, at the edges on the right) implying motion, my initial impression is that it is an invertebrate trail. 1 "There has been an alarming increase in the number of things I know nothing about." - Ashleigh Ellwood Brilliant “Try to learn something about everything and everything about something.” - Thomas Henry Huxley >Paleontology is an evolving science. >May your wonders never cease! Haplo
We found a lot of others with interesting markings in the couple hours we looked. These, we felt, were the more promising pieces. Currently picking through the others. We will post any that we can't identify or that others might find interesting. This is a great forum. Appreciate all the help. Haplo
Here's another one we haven't identified. Not sure if enough there to determine. the tatter
I agree #4 could be a very worn Archimedes, I get a lot of them here, and this looks very similar. ashcraft
That is the very rare IBC capius rootberius, a very fine specimen I may add. Brent Ashcraft 1 ashcraft, brent allen

Haplo
We've come across what we think might be a fish fossilized in the stone. Wondering if we could get some input on what y'all think. Are we seeing back legs on it? Thanks Sometimes when I consider what tremendous consequences come from little things... Auspex
Only suggestive shapes, that I can see. ashcraft
Picture is pretty small, but could be an archimedes screw. Brent Ashcraft 1 ashcraft, brent allen
