Another batch of great priced/looking Dino eggs just finished being bid on from the big auction site - They included free shipping, good prices, and two Hadrosaur clutches with 8+ eggs in both quite a rare item...very attractive.

On the other hand the seller had only been around since July, was from mainland china, not great feedback or history of sales, poor item descriptions, etc. But a lot of these things are easy to look past when you have a great deal being dangled in your face - no one wants to miss out.

I know this comes up regularly so I wanted to share a great resource for spotting fakes - Lowell Carharts guide. The page is no longer around but I dug it up from the way back machine.

For me the rule I forgot was how illegal exporting eggs in China was - they aren't about to ship it through mail. They will ship fakes though.

Anyway a good bookmark for anyone who buys eggs.

The “The Lowell Carharts guide” web page reminded me of a news report about “giant dinosaur eggs” being found in Chechnya.
