mrdinosaur
Hi All, I was helping to clear out my Aunts house and I found a parcel from a fossil shop. However, there is no invoice inside and nothing is labelled so would really appreciate some help identifying these so I can label them up and give them to my daughter who is fossil/ dino mad at the moment. mrdinosaur
And another strange ball - Couldn't find anything about this online - maybe it's just a stone she found?
Runner64
You shark/mosasaur tooth is from an Otodus shark. Your "Death Star" kind of looks like a Gastropod. You got the Orthoceras right. I don't know about the tube worm? One or the last one.
Raggedy Man
Lol death star ...I'm back.
sdsnl
Tube worm is right, but most likely recent (i.e. not a fossil). Many modern tube worms make hard tubes.
mrdinosaur
That's great - thanks! I think she'll love the tooth even more now that it comes from a shark. Bit disappointed about the worm but I'll maybe not mention that it's modern and leave her imagination to fill in the gaps!

snakebite6769
Is the "Death Star" a concretion possibly? It looks like there is something inside of it..
Taogan
That last one could be an unopened geode, difficult to tell though.
abyssunder
All the specimens above looks to be Moroccan fossils. I guess the "Death Star" could be also a Lobolith, the bulbous floating organ of a crinoid like Scyphocrinites, with the possible attachment to the stem and a part of the internal structure visible in picture #2/3. http://www.thefossilforum.com/index.php?/topic/59651-scyphocrinites-lobolith/Occurrences of Scyphocrinites loboliths in the Upper Silurian Upper Setullimestone of Pulau Langgun, Langkawi, Kedah and Guar Sanai, Berseri, Perlis - LEE CHAI PENG https://gsmpubl.files.wordpress.com/2014/10/agc2001_16.pdf 3 " We are not separate and independent entities, but like links in a chain, and we could not by any means be what we are without those who went before us and showed us the way. mrdinosaur
Sorry for bumping but just wanted to say thanks for all the help. My little one actually loved the worm stuff but wasn't so keen on the loboliths! Think I'll try a swap these for something that looks more like a creepy crawly Merry Christmas!
