Mrbrlmniii
Found this little jewl with my girlfriend along the Uchee Creek in Ft. Mitchell Alabama this past weekend. I'm pretty sure it's a fossilized shark's tooth but I cannot say for certain. Anyone want to help out? ynot
Yes it is a shark tooth. Nice find! Tony Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Will Rogers said: " Some of them didn't spring far enough." My Fossil collection - My Mineral collection My favorite thread on TFF.
Rockwood
I'm not a tooth expert, but I suspect Goblin shark may be a possibility.
squali
Most likely what Rockwood said, Goblin shark -Scapanorhynchus texanus. The root is worn and the tell tale nutrient groove is missing but the longitudinal striations and size of the tooth lean towards S. texanus. Nice find. It's hard to remember why you drained the swamp when your surrounded by alligators.
