Johannes
Dear colleagues, I want to announce a conference, taking place in Germany for the third time now. Knowing the US is far away, but maybe somebody is planning a trip to the old world in autumn... The conference is from 08.- 09.10.2016 in "the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin" in Germany. It is all about trilobites, and it is a citizen science conference, meaning the conference fee is low (20€ if you register for the conference before 02.10.2016, 10€ for students and unemployed people, 25€ for the spontaneous late birds) and topics/presentations are made generally also for a non-highly-scientific-but-interested-audience. Conference language is german in general, but we have also contributions and contributers (collectors as well as scientists) speaking english, and most of the germans are able to discuss about their beloved fossil bugs in english, too. Keynote speaker of the conference is Richard Fortey from the NHM London, some of you may have heard the name before. Conference homepage with all informations (but only in german laguage) is: http://www.trilobiten.net/index.htm The head of the organisation team is Michael Zwanzig, you can contact him directly via the conference homepage, but you can ask me for details, too. I would be glad to see some collectors or trilobite.lovers from oversea in Berlin this autumn. Glück Auf! Johannes

Johannes
A short list of some of the presentations of the conference is now online: http://trilobiten.net/e06listvortrag.htm Please consider, that only some of the presentations will be held in english. It would be nice to see an increasing number of registrations, also by collectors from outside Germany and from trilomaniacs who havn't attend on the last two trilobite events... Johannes
The conference is history now. With about 120 attending triloenthusiasts, scientists and amatuers have had some interesting days, impressions about trilobites, discussions, cake, coffee and beer as well as free visits in the NHM Berlin. You can find some pictures following these links: exhibition impressions attendents before the conference' start impressions from the presentations coffee break discussions The abstract volume of the conference (german/english for each presentation) can be ordered here: Abstract volume We did not know if there will be a similar event in the future. If not, you have definitly missed a great event among collectors and fossil enthusiasts, far away from commercial or "pure deep science" events known for our topic...
