LunarCorvus
Just thought I'd share something a bit cool About once or twice a week in the winter/spring I go to a place on the Oregon Coast to find some shell fossils. If I'm not mistaken, they're Bivalves? A lot of them have hard rock still stuck to them. I've mostly found them just laying in the dirt or in the water, but some had to be taken out of rock. If you're looking for a good place to go fossil hunting I highly recommend Moolack Beach.

caldigger
Lunar, Moolack Beach is well known for its shell fossils (famous actually). However, legality wise I believe you are limited to only collecting freed fossils that have weathered out of the rock. Please try to refrain from taking fossils from the rock cliffs. I'd hate for you to get nabbed for such a minor offence.
LunarCorvus
Indeed I guess what I should have said was I removed some from rock that had fallen off the cliff and ended up closer to the beach

Jeffrey P
Really nice finds. Have to check that place out some day. If it's like the rest of the Oregon Coast I'm sure the scenery is stunning as well. Another good reason to travel to the west coast. Thanks for posting.
