Imprinty Posted September 7, 2016 Share Posted September 7, 2016 Hello, thank you in advance for any assistance! My 5 year old son found this "rock" on the side of a creek bed in north Arkansas. We joked around saying it was a Dino Head fossil. Well the more I stare at it, the more I wonder? I know it's in bad condition. But do you see any clues to think it's actually NOT just a rock? I am not seeing any bone texture, or suture marks, to indicate skull or bone of any kind. I definitely would have picked it up as a geologic oddity, ... or Pseudo fossil. The chances of having the lower jaw still attached to the upper portion without any matrix holding it together would be slim to none. You have a very cool pseudo fossil that is worthy of keeping as a conversation piece.
