Affordable multi-day family dig sites?

I have a friend who does the  Baisch's Dinosaur Digs (Glendive, MT) every year. He's brought home some killer dino fossils.

join a local area fossil club if there is one and go out with them. Virginia is loaded with fossils including everything from megalodon teeth to trilobites. Get some lit from your state geological survey for details you can investigate independently. No dinos that I know of in your state but Maryland and North Carolina both have scrappy remains if you know where to go. Most dino sites wouldn't be good for very small children though. Nothing like local if you're looking at a limited budget.
