Wscherl
Hi All, First post here. I recently found this at an estate sale and have no idea what I have. It feels like a rock (petrified). It is a large tooth measuring 3 1/4" wide X 2 3/4" tall. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Bill

Darktooth
I am not so sure this is a tooth. Could you try taking clearer pics from different angles? I like Trilo-butts and I cannot lie.

Darktooth
I am not an expert but it doesn't seem like any tooth I have ever seen. Though it does have a suggestive shape. That being said, I don't have any ideas of what it might be. It appears in the pics almost as if the black coloration was painted on. I like Trilo-butts and I cannot lie. Fruitbat
I think @sorzano95 hit the nail right on the head. Looks like a partial mastodon or gomphothere tooth. -Joe 2 Illigitimati non carborundum Fruitbat's PDF Library

abyssunder
That's a pretty nice fossil proboscidean tooth fragment. Unfortunately, the origin in unknown. 1 " We are not separate and independent entities, but like links in a chain, and we could not by any means be what we are without those who went before us and showed us the way.
