Tony G.
I bought this Trilobite from Morocco about 11 years ago. I know there are many fakes out there, so I am asking for your opinions. There is a repaired crack through the center of the matrix which made me believe that it was real. You can see the crack in the photo, it goes from the upper left, through the trilobite, and over to center right. If it is real, is the black color natural to this type of trilobite from Morocco or has it been painted?
sseth
Based on what I can see from the picture I think it is real. A few different angles would help us know for sure. It is called a Coltraenia, although some still refer to is as a Treveropyge. Fossildude19
I see two cracks running through this trilobite. Good indication of it being real. 3 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks."
